Am/Can Ch Knolland Dizzy Blonde (1974-1984) by Am Ch Viscara Vagabond King x Knolland)

Valerie was our first Standard Poodle. After a year long search, Ed Jenner of Knolland Farms took a chance on a 15 year girl and sent a young cream bitch to join our family. Valerie was part of our family for 10 brief years. She was a wonderful ambassador of the breed and one of the smartest, most intuitive dogs we have had to date. Bred only once, she was the dam of our first homebred Group winner. Although she passed away more than 20 years ago, she is still much loved and missed.

Our first homebred Group winner, Rufus was a true gentleman.

Devra was our first important producer and our introduction to black Standards. She was my parent’s companion in her mature years. She was the dam of 7 champions.

Rastus was one of the very special dogs in our lives. He traveled around the world with us (including Australia and Indonesia) and was just an extraordinary companion. He finished his title nearly undefeated. A beautiful dog with a beautiful temperament. Rastus passed away in Jakarta at the age of 13.

Pedigree

Another incredibly special dog, Cassidy also travelled around the world with us and had the unique experience of two stays in Australian quarantine (1992, 1998). Our first important winner, Cassidy was a group winner in 3 countries, a BIS winner in 2 countries and a Top Producer. His wonderful temperament won him admirers wherever he went. More importantly, he was my constant companion. He passed away in 2006 and there is still a void in our family.

Testing: OFA excellent, SA clear at 9 years, von Willebrands clear, eyes clear, thyroid normal at 5 years.

Pedigree

Without a doubt, Darryl has been our most important producer to date. She has had an interesting life, being born in the US (one of a litter of 12 from frozen semen) and sent to Sweden as an older puppy to live with my best friend, Doris Backe of Splash Miniature Poodles and eventually moving to Australia with us. Doris and I shared the responsibility of showing Darryl in Sweden, which did involve flying to Sweden from Indonesia on the odd occasion. Darryl finished under renown Poodle specialists, including Frank Sabella and Geoff Corish, with specialty wins and a Reserve Best In Show. She has been a spectacular producer and from a total of 12 puppies in 2 litters (the first born in Sweden and the second in Australia less than one week out of quarantine), she is the dam of 8 champions, 3 Top Producers, 4 Group Winners and 2 Best In Show Winners. In 2004, the Number 1 Poodle in the US was her daughter and the Number 1 Standard in the UK was her grandson. Her sons and daughters have become foundation dogs of note for their owners.
